Life is a Performance
Life is a performance which often requires us to be at our best and
overcome several obstacles. For over four decades sport sciences have
studied how athletes succeed and perform at high levels, but only
recently have we realized that our research with regards to sports
applies to all! The very same skills used to help Olympic and
professional athletes compete can now be used by you to achieve your
personal goals, whatever they might be.
How We Work
Whether we work with an individual or a group, we see our work as a
collaborative partnership with the client. We will conduct a thorough
assessment of concerns and difficulties as well as identify what is
working well. Because no one performs in a vacuum, we seek to identify
all sources of potential stress that may contribute to performance
difficulties. After we develop an understanding of the difficulties, we
seek to refine existing skills, increase problem solving, enhance
coping abilities, and teach new skills. Throughout the process we seek
feedback from our client. When it is time for the working relationship
to end, we evaluate the progress made. We also invite the client back
after six months for a booster session to re-evaluate progress and
consolidate gains.
We stress flexibility in our work. Often individual meetings will be as
short as one-half hour but may go as long as 90 minutes. Group or
systems work or seminars may range in length from 45 minutes to several
days.
Who we work with
We work with people from all walks of life and occupations including
athletes, performing artists, doctors, lawyers, business executives,
teachers, and students. All of these performers can benefit from the
technology that has helped build Olympic and professional athletes and
teams. Learning to maximize potential and be mentally prepared for a
myriad of challenges aids performers in exceeding their goals.
